The environment and sustainability

Croxley is a passionate advocate for the environment.

This passion is not confined to the products we manufacture and distribute, we try to weave it into the entire fabric of our business. We support the work of the Forestry Stewardship Council® and Environmental Choice through our accreditations; we work to reduce consumption of energy and minimise the waste destined for the landfill; we train and encourage our staff to help us in our efforts to protect and improve the environment.

Ask about our FSC® certified products.

But more than our own company, we endeavour to help others fulfill their environmental and sustainability objectives. Croxley Recycling repurposes chemical waste and e-waste associated with photocopiers; our newly introduced GreenKleen range of office and home cleaning products takes nasty chemicals out of the environment around you; our compostable cups made from cornstarch work for the planet, not against it.

About

Croxley Recycling has operated since 2007, developing New Zealand’s largest network of recycling collection points in businesses, universities, schools, hospitals, government departments, banks and retailers. In all there are 14,000 collection points.

This operation recycles imaging consumables, such as toner cartridges, as well as dismantling and recycling printers, computers, office electronic equipment, mobile phones and other electronic devices. Cartridges from all major brands are accepted, including Ricoh, Brother, Canon, Konica, Minolta and Sharp. Through our schemes 400,000 cartridges, and 200 tonnes of recyclable material, including non-biodegradable plastics, are diverted from the landfill every year. We are the only total collection and recycling service for used imaging consumables.

A key component of the business are the secure pathways to meaningful repurposing for waste products. For example, metal and circuit boards are separated for recycling while plastic is sent to local manufacturers to be incorporated into items such as coat hangers and fence insulators. Another of the company’s partners has developed a pathway for waste toner powder to be used in paint and building materials.
